In a collaborative partnership, Communities In Schools of Putnam County, Inc. has joined with Vision Service Plan (VSP) to provide eye exams and eye glasses for needy children throughout the community. Communities In Schools of Putnam County, Inc. works with community agencies to identify, qualify and service needy students.
This program became part of retired General Colin Powell's America's Promise and the Alliance for Youth in 1997. VSP has committed to provide free eye care for up to 50,000 children annually. CIS of Putnam County has vouchers for distribution to children living in the community who qualify for this program.
